Topics of discussion included: <br />Emergencies begin locally and end locally. This requires the Council to be <br />prepared with the correct legislation in place before an event, acting as <br />needed during an event, and being prepared to handle recovery and any <br />long-term implications(staff allocations, funding, and economic <br />revitalization, replenishing reserves)following an event. <br />Understanding that the end result of an incident may include defining a <br />new “normal” for City services and finances depending on the severity of <br />the event. <br />What in an event would trigger a “disaster declaration” and when do you <br />call for additional support. <br />How do you fund the operations, clean up and recovery. <br />During an event have you defined how to contact and call in the policy <br />group? <br />How does the policy group fit into the management and distribution of <br />information to the public? <br />How, and when, does the policy group interact with other agencies, other <br />policy groupsthat may also play a role in an emergency event (Louisville <br />Fire District, Boulder County, Colorado Department of Transportation)? <br />Adjourn <br />The meeting adjourned at 9:20PM. <br />Submitted by Meredyth Muth <br />February 29, 2012 <br />
