Meeting as Advisory Board for the City of Louisville Report from the Director of Library and Museum Services – Beth Barrett A. Public Involvement Policy 1.. The meeting package contained excerpts from the public involvement policy, which members are encouraged to review. In other news, a new Economic Development Coordinator has been hired who is coming from Dubuque. Report from the Museum Coordinator: B. Approval of Deeds of Gifts from donors 1.. The Commission voted to approve the following gifts from donors: a. From Don Buffo, four Louisville Times issues from the 1960s-70s b. From Kris Foy, from the estate of Marie Blair, items relating to Louisville organizations c. From Charlene Hyslop, an original historic photo which includes Commission member Andy William’s historic house d. From Mariann Lastoka, funeral memorial books, business items, St. Louis Church items, a photo of a house in Louisville’s Little Italy, and photos indicating that mine explosives had been stored in the Harney Lastoka granary from the early 1900s. e. From Shirley Elrod, 1950s-1980s Louisville Times, photos of St. Louis School, related items. f. From Darlieen Del Pizzo, family history of the Bowes family, scans of photos including one of her grandfather, a member of the Bachelor Club, shown with the woman he married. g. From Barbara Stahr who is a member of the Thomas family, payroll records of the Ajax and Electric Mines including names of miners from the 1920s; business items h. From Helen Warembourg,1967 booklet relating to Paclamar Farms, a Louisville dairy farm i. From Darlene Rohr, a member of Wilson family, a curtain stretcher for lace curtains. The process was to soak lace curtains in sugar water, place over the stretcher and dry in the sun. j. From Dave Ferguson, a 1977 program from a Louisville senior citizens trip taken to California by way of Santa Fe. Advice sought on large artifacts being offered. 2. Paula Enrietto has asked if the Museum could use doll furniture made by her grandfather for the collection. The Commission’s advice was to request photos and then review. Questions regarding Museum Coordinator’s written report 3.. The report was clear and there were no questions. Bridget noted a recent newspaper article about the Louisville Grain Elevator and mentioned that the Historic Preservation Commission placed a hold on the demo permit for the Grain Elevator. 2012 Citizen’s Survey questions – Update. C.It was confirmed that there will be a question about the Museum and history on the survey being mailed out by the City. Chairperson’s Report D.
