Council remanded this item to <br />request a finding of “extraordinary circumstances” and to receive a stamped engineers <br />letter. <br />Koertje inquired why is this back before the HPC. <br />McCartney stated the City Council wanted more information regarding the extraordinary <br />circumstances and the reasoning behind the cost reduction. The work also has to be <br />signed off by a structural engineer. <br />There was discussion as to what the extraordinary circumstances were and why the <br />renovation was reduced in cost. It was also discussed that the work has been reviewed <br />and approved by a structural engineer. <br />La Grave inquired what the extraordinary circumstances for this structure is if most of <br />the structures in old town are built this way. <br />McCartney stated the roof span for this structure is much wider than most structures. <br />
