City Council <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> June 5, 2012 <br /> Page 13 of 16 <br /> The same pressures are not currently felt in commercial and industrial zoned districts, <br /> so a change to the building separation requirements in these areas is not necessary. <br /> Staff and Planning Commission recommended two changes to the Louisville Municipal <br /> Code to address these issues by amending Section 17.16.030.0 and Section <br /> 17.16.130. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT <br /> Mayor Muckle called for public comments and hearing none, closed the public hearing <br /> and called for Council comment. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENT <br /> MOTION: Mayor Pro Tem Dalton moved to approve Ordinance No. 1614, Series 2012, <br /> seconded by Council member Sackett. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by <br /> a vote of 7-0. <br /> BI-MONTHLY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT UPDATE <br /> Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation. <br /> Economic Development Director DeJong reported a lot of his first month was spent <br /> developing relationships. He updated Council on economic developments throughout <br /> the City: <br /> • Business Assistance Agreements — One BAP has been executed. Louisville <br /> LePeep plans to start a restaurant at the former A&W location on McCaslin. <br /> • McCaslin Business Association (former Centennial Valley Merchants) —Working <br /> on a way to re-brand their group. <br /> • ICSC Annual Conference — Mayor Muckle, City Manager Fleming, and Economic <br /> Development Director DeJong traveled to Las Vegas for the International <br /> Conference of Shopping Centers convention in May and met with the existing <br /> retailers, owners of commercial/retail property in Louisville, real estate brokers <br /> who specialize in retail redevelopment and firms that specialize in evaluating the <br /> retail potential of locations. Overall, the meetings with retailers were positive, as <br /> existing store sales continue to be strong. In the meetings discussing the retail <br /> locations in Louisville currently vacant, brokers noted the properties have <br /> significant issues which limit the attractiveness to large retailers. <br /> • Conoco Phillips —The corporate separation is completed and the property goes <br /> to the Phillips 66 side of the organization. <br /> • Historic Grain Elevator— One proposal was received on time from Steve Poppitz, <br /> and one proposal was received late from Mike Kranzdorf. Mr. Kranzdorf currently <br /> has a purchase contract with the owners of the property. Several contingencies <br />
