Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 4, 2012 <br />Page 4of 4 <br />-Stephen Tebo on the Highway 42 Redevelopment and Underpass project –City will keep Mr. <br />Tebo updated. <br />-Local property owner, Mike Kranzdorf and his Father –Mike has a purchase contract out on <br />the Grain Elevator site. <br />-City Manager Fleming said the focus at the conference is more about big box developers, a <br />cookie cutter approach. The focus of Louisville demographics areunique, specialty <br />businesses. <br />7/11 Closing – <br />Met withRegional Representative –store closing after 25 years. The store had <br />a good 20 years at this location –problems were the access and changing traffic patterns. <br />-Councilmember Jasiak –ensure the stakeholders are involved in the DDI and that the City be <br />receptive to their feedback. <br />-Rob Lathrop –apply our knowledge of what we have learned from the past when going <br />forward. <br />-Michael Menaker –Centennial Valley is ripe for renewal/redevelopment. City Manager <br />Fleming said this would be a great Comp Plan discussion. <br />-Councilmember Jasiak talked about her conversation with Dana Alford, McCaslin Business <br />District (formerly the Centennial Valley Merchants Association) about rebranding this area. <br />It’s a wonderful opportunity for public involvement and public awareness. <br />REPORTS FROM COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br />– <br />th <br />Rob Lathrop –On the June 5Council Agenda, the bid award for the construction of the CTC trail <br />is on Consent. Thanked the CTC Metro District. <br />Scott Reichenberg, CTC –the Metro District Board is entering the next phase of servicing bonds <br />The Board would like the ability to leverage Metro District to do other things. Howdo we make <br />CTC more competitive? Need help from the City in defining. <br />Rob Lathrop expressed his views that the CTC would benefit from restaurants and future trail <br />connection on the west end. Scott Reichenberg saidthere are not enough people in CTC to <br />support a restaurant, eg. Udi’s Café closing. <br />The meeting was adjourned at 9:25AM. <br />ADJOURN– <br />
