Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />June 18, 2012 <br />Page 2 of 10 <br />Koertje asked if staff could make it an agenda item next time. <br />Stewart agreed. <br />Pre-filing Conference – 631 Johnson Street <br />Stewart asked staff for a presentation. <br />Robinson stated the applicant has asked to present again because they have more <br />information. <br />Andy Johnson stated the homeowner is still interested in keeping this discussion going, <br />but the she was not available for tonight’s meeting. He had provided more information <br />regarding the home ownership and added Bridget Bacon is now researching the social <br />history. <br />Public Hearing – 705 McKinley Avenue – Demolition Request <br />Public Hearing – Demo Request – 705 McKinley <br />Stewart asked if there were any conflicts of interest. <br />Lewis stated she lives across the street and wondered if she had a conflict of interest. <br />Stewart stated he did not believe so because she was not professionally involved in the <br />project. <br />Koertje agreed. <br />Robinson presented the information provided in the packet. <br />Stewart asked what triggers a formal public hearing ont his demo. <br />Robinson stated it was due to more than 50% of the roof being removed and the siding <br />is being removed. <br />Andy Johnson spoke for the applicant, stating the following: <br />Post world war construction <br />Architecturally not special <br />Social History includes construction by a Steinbaugh, even though there are <br />several houses throughout Louisville which have this same history (being built by <br />a Steinbaugh) <br />The applicants needs more SF. <br />The asbestos siding is more than likely original <br />The roof pitch will need to be modified due to Old Town regulations. <br />Stewart stated he found the social history somewhat compelling due to the Steinbaugh <br />connection. He then inquired how many houses have been constructed by Steinbaugh. <br />
