Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
January 9, 2012

Committee Reports – none
Items from Staff –
Establish the following locations for posting of agendas:

City Hall

Library

Recreation/Senior Center

Police Department/Court

City web site (www.LouisvilleCO.gov)
Distribution of the 2012 Open Government Pamphlet (attached). Please
include it in your packet for January.
Identify 2012 meeting location (and schedule if possible). We ask that each
board publically identify where it will meet in 2012 and if possible actually list the
2012 meeting dates and times (identifying meetings that conflict with holidays
and scheduling an alternative or cancelling the meeting).
The HPC agreed on all of the above discussions.
Update on Demolition Request –
McCartney informed the HPC a demolition permit has been submitted by the owner of
the Grain Elevator.
Stewart asked if the City would be interested in a public/private partnership.
McCartney stated Bonnie Star, Economic Development Director, is interested in
discussing all possibilities.
Koertje added if the City owned the structure it would be great if the structure were to be
stabilized. No need to restore for reuse.
Stewart added there is a lot more activity on this road now that Lucky Pie and Sweet
Cow have opened. He added there is a chance the City could buy the property,
subdivide the Napa Building out, and resell the property under the Napa Building.
McCartney stated he would keep the HPC posted on any further discussions.
Department Referrals – none
Updates – none
