This means that over the next five years, if
the City's General Fund revenues do not increase, we will have to identify ways to reduce the
City's expenditures in 2017 and subsequent years to maintain a prudent reserve. As always, we
will be monitoring revenues and expenditures closely and if it is necessary to adjust service
levels we will have adequate time to do that prudently.
Conservation Trust Fund
• Staff projects revenue will decline slightly from 2011 to 2012. Operating expenditures are
budgeted to increase from a 2011 budget of $1,099,960 to a 2012 proposed budget of
$1,164,460.
• Capital expenditures are projected at $637,130 for 2012. No specific land acquisitions are
planned for 2012. However, reserve funding available for this purpose will be carried over to
subsequent years for future high priority land acquisitions.
• Even with the added operating and capital expenses, staff expects the Conservation Trust
Fund reserves to remain at approximately$5 million through the end of 2016.
6
