City Council
Meeting Minutes
July 17, 2012
Mark Persichetti, 1402 Taft Place, Louisville, CO preferred no increase but felt the
benefits outweighed the cost. He thought there was rationale for the increase including
the administrative fee. He asked Council to vote in favor.
Mayor Muckle called for further public comment and hearing none, asked for Council
comment.
COUNCIL COMMENT
Council member Keany inquired why these fees were not a part of resolution passed to
allow fees to be set by the City Manager. City Manger Fleming responded these
particular charges were not included in that fee schedule as they are similar to water
and wastewater rate changes that come before Council.
MOTION: Council member Loo moved to approve Resolution No. 44, Series 2012 a
resolution establishing refuse, recyclables and compostables collection and disposal
fees effective August 1, 2012 for the City of Louisville, Colorado seconded by Council
member Jasiak. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of 6-0. Absent:
Mayor Pro Tem Dalton.
PUBLIC COMMENT
Bill Virene stated he is glad to live in Louisville. He expressed concern about
government spending and felt the money for the underpass at McCaslin/Davidson Mesa
could be spent more judiciously.
CITY ATTORNEY'S REPORT
City Attorney Light had no report but stated he would not be at the next regular Council
meeting and would provide counsel to be in attendance.
COUNCIL COMMENTS, COMMITTEE REPORTS, AND IDENTIFICATION OF
FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Council member Jasiak reported on attending the Open Space Advisory Board meeting
which was a joint meeting with Lafayette's board. Common concerns and goals were
worked on with a spirit of cooperation.
Mayor Muckle reported, in the same spirit of cooperation, Council will be meeting with
Longmont and Boulder City Councils in the fall.
Council member Keany invited all to attend the Senior Citizens Ice Cream Social on
Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in Community Park followed by Concerts in the Park.
ADJOURN
