City Council Meeting Minutes July 17, 2012 Page 8 of 12 MOTIONS: Mayor Muckle moved City Council approve Ordinance No. 1618, Series 2012 on first reading, ordered it published and set the public hearing for August 7, 2012, seconded by Council member Jasiak. Vote: 5 — 1 with Councilor Loo voting no. Mayor Pro Tern Dalton absent. Mayor Muckle moved City Council approve and authorize the publication of notice for the potential purchase of the property seconded by Council member Yamell. All in favor. Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Dalton. Council member Keany moved to approve Resolution No. 41, Series 2012 approving the non-binding letter of intent with Amterre Property Group, seconded by Council member Loo. Vote 5 — 1 with Mayor Muckle voting no. Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Dalton. RESOLUTION NO. 42, SERIES 2012 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A TWO-YEAR LEASE AGREEMENT FOR LOT 6, BLOCK 4, TOWN OF LOUISVILLE Mayor Muckle called for a staff presentation. Economic Development Director DeJong stated Karim Amirfathi, owner of Altan Alma Organic Farm has plans to expand his operations on the property through the opening of a village market. This would involve the installation of several non-permanent buildings on the East side of the property. Staff negotiated a two year lease term to coincide with the possible redevelopment of the Historic Grain Elevator property and to allow Mr. Amirfathi sufficient time to recoup his investment in the proposed non- permanent buildings. This area most likely will not see redevelopment pressure until after the Grain Elevator property is redeveloped and two years would be the earliest such pressure would likely occur. Mayor Muckle called for an applicant presentation. APPLICANT PRESENTATION Karim Amirfathi stated as a local farmer and local business owner he wanted to add to the beauty and history of Louisville. These are beautiful buildings, originally from Germany, and have been used many times in Denver for the Christmas Market. He hoped his vision would soon become a reality. PUBLIC COMMENT Mayor Muckle called for public comment and hearing none asked for Council comment. COUNCIL COMMENT MOTION: Council member Loo moved to approve Resolution No. 42, Series 2012 approving a two year lease agreement for lot 6, block 4, Town of Louisville, seconded by Council member Jasiak. All in favor. Absent: Mayor Pro Tem Dalton.
