<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1197 <br />SERIES 1995 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO, AND SCRIPPS HOWARD CABLE <br />COMPANY <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Louisville is authorized to grant one or <br />more nonexclusive, revocable franchises to construct, reconstruct, <br />operate, and maintain a cable communication system within the City <br />and is desirous of obtaining an upgrade of the existing Scripps <br />Howard system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the current franchise agreement between the City and <br />Scripps Howard will expire at midnight, September 17, 1995; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Scripps Howard has made application to the City for <br />renewal of its existing franchise; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has determined that the financial, legal, <br />and technical ability of Scripps Howard is reasonably sufficient to <br />provide services, facilities, and equipment necessary to meet the <br />future cable-related needs and interests of the community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City, after public hearings and due evaluation, <br />has determined that it is in the best interest of the City and its <br />residents to grant a new franchise to Scripps Howard. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Franchise Agreement between the City of <br />Louisville, Colorado, and Scripps Howard Cable Company, attached <br />hereto and incorporated herein by this reference, is hereby <br />approved. <br /> <br />Section 2.
