<br />Revitalization Commission <br />Minutes <br />DATE <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />be approved by City Council at its regularly scheduled meeting on June <br />7,2005. The recent EPA Brownfields Grant obtained by the City <br />includes $25,000 for completion of such an Urban Renewal Plan for the <br />Highway 42 Revitalization area. <br />2. Joint City Council/LRC Urban Renewal Meeting - The LRC discussed <br />having a meeting with the City Council to discuss urban renewal in <br />general and an update on the progress to date, including the completion <br />of the Conditions Survey and the initiation of the Urban Renewal Plan <br />process. This will happen sometime in the next month or two, <br />depending on schedule availability of the City Council and LRC <br />members. <br />3. Planning Department Update on Highway 42 Area Activities - Ken <br />Johnstone provided an update on the environmental assessments (EA) <br />being conducted in the Highway 42 area as well as information/timeline <br />on the mixed-use zoning and design guidelines. <br />4. Next Meeting Items -- 1) Update on the Urban Renewal Plan, Leland <br />Consulting Group 2) Planning Department Update on Highway 42 Area <br />Activities 3) Next Meeting Items 4) Next Meeting Date <br />5. Next Meeting Date - There will be no meeting in June with the next <br />regularly scheduled meeting to be held on July 14, 2005. <br /> <br />Commissioners' Comments The Commissioners provided this opportunity to <br />the public for comment. Jean Morgan raised issues regarding the density <br />allowed in the Highway 42 area as well as potential road alignments within the <br />area, specifically with regard to the signal at Short and roadways adjacent to <br />Miner's Field. Michael Deborski inquired as to whether a Master Developer had <br />been chosen for the site and whether an RFP was to be provided for potential <br />development proposals. The Commission and City officials responded that the <br />City has not designated a Master Developer and is currently unsure of what an <br />RFP might entail if proposed. Michael Deborski also raised issues regarding his <br />business operation as it relates to the Highway 42 Framework Plan and future <br />redevelopment plans. <br /> <br />Adjourn - The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 AM. <br />
