CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION <br />GENDA ITEM ___ <br />A <br />SUBJECT: CASH & INVESTMENTS AT AUGUST 31, 2012 <br />DATE:SEPTEMBER 17, 2012 <br />PRESENTED BY: KEVIN WATSON, FINANCE DEPARTMENT <br />SUMMARY: <br />Attached is the August 31, 2012 report from Davidson Fixed Income Management, the <br />City’s Investment Advisor. As of August 31, total cash and investments amounted to <br />$42.4 million, an increase of $0.5 million from July 31. The average rate of return on all <br />cash and investments was approximately 0.58% during August 2012. <br />The following chart summarizes the distribution of all cash and investments for <br />December 2011 through August 2012. <br />Scott Prickett, Davidson Fixed Income Management, the City’s Investment <br />Advisor, will be at the meeting to update the Committee on various issues related <br />to the City’s investments. <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMUNICATION <br />6 <br />
