<br />I The City Council holds regular meetings

<br />are generally held the second and fourth Tuesdays of ev-
<br />ery month at the Library, 951 Spruce Street, at 7:00 PM.
<br />BUSINESS RETENTION &
<br />DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
<br />The BRaD Committee is comprised of three City
<br />Council members and representatives from the Chamber
<br />of Commerce, the Downtown Business Association, the
<br />Revitalization Commission, and the Planning Commis-
<br />sion. It meets the first Monday of each month in the
<br />Library meeting room, 951 Spruce Street, at 8:00 AM.
<br />FINANCE COMMITTEE
<br />The Finance Committee is comprised of the Mayor
<br />and two City Council members. The members meet with
<br />staff to discuss finanacial matters the third Monday of
<br />every month at City Hall, 749 Main Street, at Noon.
<br />BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
<br />The Board of Adjustment is a quasi- judicial board
<br />that hears and decides requests for variances from the
<br />City's zoning ordinances. The Board meets the third
<br />Wednesday of each month at City Hall, 749 Main
<br />Street, at 6:30 PM, only as needed.
<br />BUILDING CODE BOARD OF APPEALS
<br />The Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals of
<br />orders, decisions, or determinations made by building
<br />officials relative to the application of the building code.
<br />The Board meets the third Thursday of each month at the
<br />City Hall, 749 Main Street, at 7:00 P\1, only as needed.
<br />CULTURAL COUNCIL
<br />The Cultural Council brings cultural activities to
<br />Louisville. Its primary goal is to advance and preserve the
<br />arts in Louisville. The Council meets the third Thursday
<br />of each month at the Recreation Center, 900 West Via
<br />Appia, at 7:00 I';M.
<br />GOLF COURSE ADVISORY BOARD
<br />The GCAB advises the City Council on matters
<br />related to the Coal Creek Golf Course and its manage-
<br />ment. The Authority meets the third Monday of each
<br />month at the Library Meeting Room, 951 Spruce Street,
<br />at 6:30 PM.
<br />HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
<br />The Historic Preservation Commission advises on
<br />preservation issues and spending of the Historic Preser-
<br />vation Fund, and oversees the designation of properties
<br />as local landmarks. The Commission meets the third
<br />Monday of each month at City Hall, 749 Main Street,
<br />at 7:00 PM.

<br />The Historical Commission promotes public \.
<br />awareness of the history of Louisville, with an
<br />emphasis on the coal mining era, and advises the Lou-
<br />isville Historical Museum. The Commission meets the
<br />third Wednesday of each month at City Hall, 749 Main
<br />Street, at 6:30 I'M.
<br />a e HORTICULTURE & FORESTRY BOARD
<br />The Horticulture Board works with City staff to
<br />implement the Landscape Beautification Master
<br />Plan and works on the development of the Louisville
<br />Arboretum. The Board meets the first Thursday of each
<br />month at the Library, 951 Spruce Street, at 7:00 P,M1.
<br />HOUSING AUTHORITY
<br />The Housing Authority provides housing assistance
<br />to families and senior citizens through Section 8 housing
<br />and local housing developments. The board meets the last
<br />Tuesday of each month at one of the Housing Authority
<br />properties, at 8:00 AM.
<br />LIBRARY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
<br />The Library Board of Trustees is an advi-
<br />sory body that gives advice to the City Council
<br />and the Library Director about local policy.
<br />The Board meets the second Thursday of each
<br />month at the Library, 951 Spruce Street, at 6:30 P M
<br />LOCAL LICENSING AUTHORITY
<br />The Licensing Authority reviews applications for
<br />liquor and medical marijuana licenses and reviews alleged
<br />violations of state and local liquor and medical marijuana
<br />codes. The Authority meets the fourth Monday of each
<br />month at City Hall, 749 Main Street, at 7:00 PiN1.
<br />OPEN SPACE ADVISORY BOARD
<br />The Open Space Advisory Board advises the
<br />City Council on the management of Open Space prop-
<br />erties. The Board meets the second Wednesday of each
<br />month at the Library, 951 Spruce Street, at 7:00 1',l1.

<br />PLANNING COMMISSION
<br />The Planning Commission evaluates land use pro-
<br />posals, holds public hearings to evaluate each proposal
<br />against municipal ordinances and zoning regulations,
<br />and makes recommendations to the City Council. The
<br />Commission meets the second Thursday of each month
<br />at City Hall, 749 Main Street, at 6:30 1'M.
<br />REVITALIZATION COMMISSION
<br />The Revitalization Commission is responsible for
<br />conducting urban revitalization activities throughout the
<br />City and particularly in the Highway 42 Revitalization
<br />Area. The Commission meets the second Monday of each
<br />month at the Library, 951 Spruce Street, at 7:30 AM.
<br />L, SUSTAINABILITY ADVISORY BOARD
<br />The Sustainability Advisory Board identifies oppor-
<br />tunities for resource conservation and energy efficiency
<br />in the City and advises City Council on approaches to
<br />conservation and sustainability. The Board meets the third
<br />Wednesday of each month at City Hall, 749 Main Street,
<br />at 6:30 I';M.
<br />YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
<br />The Youth Advisory Board advises the City Council
<br />on issues affecting the youth of Louisville. The Board
<br />consists of students from grades 6 -12 in Louisville. The
<br />Board meets the first Thursday of each month during the
<br />school year at the Library, 951 Spruce Street, at 7:00 PM.
