•
Louisville Open Space Citizens Advisory Board Meeting
Monday, December 17, 20011
Louisville Public Library
950 Spruce Street
Louisville, CO 80027
7:00 Meeting
Attendance: Matt Jones, Pat Hornbostel, Heidi Ochis, Wayne Varra, Bob Muckle, Susan Remington, Bill
VanOrman and Cary Tengler
Also in attendance: Keith Williams, City Staff; Paul Wood, City Planning Staff.
Recommendations made during the December 17th meeting
1. Avista Hospital land swap. The Board would like to look at the property before a recommendation is
made. Pall Wood would like a recommendation from the Board as to whether the land should be
designated as a park or as open space.
2. Relocation of prairie dogs on Trillium property, to be displaced by Northwest Parkway. Board
strongly recommends that the NW Parkway Authority fund both the relocation of the dogs and finds a site
for them. Louisville does not currently have a suitable relocation site.
•3. Raptor nest on Admor property. Board would like more information as to why the contractor wants
to put the nest up, and what he expects out of it in return before a recommendation is made.
4. ESCO report. Board suggests a public meeting on February 27th in an open house format to let the
public comment on the ESCO report.
Matters from Staff/Board not on agenda
Pat Hornbostel asked if the City had looked into the trail easement encroachment issue on Birch Court.
Keith Williams said he has tried to contact the homeowners. The next step would be to hire a surveyor.
None.
Public comment items not on agenda
Matters from Staff/Board on agenda
Paul Wood discussed the land swap with Avista Hospital.
Keith Williams introduced the proposal to place a raptor nest in the cottonwoods on the Admor property.
The placement is a mitigating response to a disturbed raptor perch caused by the NW parkway.
.• Bill VanOrman discussed the topics on the table regarding the Lastoka property (attached). He noted that
there needed to be some clarification of how the new City Charter will effect jointly owned properties.
