Public Comments on Items Not on the Agenda
No members of the public were present at the meeting.
Chris Lichty reported that Scott Robson has been hired as the new Director for
the Department of Land Management. It was suggested that Chris invite Mr.
Robson to the next HFAB meeting.
VI. Designation of 2006 meeting location and where agendas will be posted
(Library, City Hall, Police Station, Recreation Center and website).
Board members agreed to continue to meet on the same schedule and at the
same location in 2006 as was used in 2005. Meetings will be held on the 1st
Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM at the Louisville Recreation Center.
VII. Community Park
• Chris Lichty reported on the progress at the Community Park with comments
from other Board members. Items noted included:
• Culverts have been put in at the extension.
• There has been some maintenance of vegetation to enhance the potential
for success.
•. The sod is doing well and is being maintained, including watering.
• It was suggested that the bamboo plants need collars to restrict spreading
of the plants.
It was suggested to Chris that'the date and time for the grand opening of the park
should be made known and reported to HFAB.
It was suggested by Chris that a service that HFAB could provide that would be
valuable for the management of the park would be to develop a management
guide. This item is to be discussed in more detail at the February meeting.
It was suggested that the writing of technical guides could be a means for
providing education for other areas of the City as well as the Park. This item is to
be discussed as part of the goal setting at the next HFAB meeting in February.
VIII. Arboretum Planning
The annual maintenance effort was discussed
