• <br />Horticultural & Forestry Advisory Board <br />Minutes <br />November 3, 2005 <br />Page 3 of 4 <br />the trees next May, which will fulfill the educational component required by the <br />grant. Also, Chris is working on involving other local companies as well as CSU, <br />to show community involvement for the grant application. <br />Theresa suggested "teaser" signage on Via Appia to draw public attention to <br />Arboretum. <br />Dave Russell is continuing to research other funding opportunities for the <br />Arboretum, in particular bricks for the "giving garden," and hopes to have a report <br />for the January meeting. <br />VIII. Forestry Ordinance <br />The Forestry ordinance will be presented to City Council at the same time as the <br />Arboretum plan. Final draft of forestry ordinance is needed from Chris. <br />IX. The Open Government Charter Amendment <br />No discussion. <br />X. McCaslin /Hwy. 36 Interchange <br />• Discussion of pillars —color and design approval. <br />By consensus the Board requested that Chris Lichty obtain a copy of <br />current landscape design for the RTD land and the Louisville side of the <br />interchange and provide it to the Board at the January meeting. <br />• <br />XI. Gateway Signage, Landscaping and Management <br />Caryl Shields contacted Kathy Kron about concerns regarding the gateway area <br />at McCaslin and South Boulder Road. Kathy responded via email with a list of <br />tasks formulated in August, some of which have been completed. Kathy also <br />stated that gateway signage is a separate project, and funding may not be <br />available in the 2006 budget. Susan and Mike suggested that HFAB express <br />concerns about the gateway projects to Kathy Kron via Chris Lichty. <br />X11. Horticultural and Forestry Advisory Board Award <br />No report. <br />XIII. Residential Landscape Design Guidelines <br />Although commercial and industrial landscape design guidelines already are in <br />place, there is some discussion about whether residential guidelines are <br />
