•
LOUISVILLE HORTICULTURE AND FORESTRY BOARD
Meeting Minutes
October 7, 2004
Opening:
The regular meeting of the Horticulture and Forestry Board was called to order at
7:03PM on October 7, 2004 in the Louisville Recreation Center's staff conference room
by Susan Spaulding.
Present:
Susan Spaulding, Chair
David Russell
Michael Frontczak
Judith Turner
Terry Cook
Theresa Rounds
Matt Tepe
Ellen Toon
Chris Lichty, City Forester
Guests:
Cindy Lair, Director of Land Management
Kathy Kron, Project Manager in Land Management -
Shawn Rollinger, Design Concepts' Landscape Architect
A. Approval of Minutes
The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as distributed.
B. Old Open Business
None discussed — all time consumed by new business.
C. New Business
1 Develop median design guidelines and possible review of median designs.
City Council has the plan but an anticipated $300,000 shortfall in funds probably
means no action in 2005 through a specifically designated fund. Chris believes he
may be able to come up with some funds to start cleaning up some of the
medians.
2. Proposals for promoting the arboretum for events such as tours, weddings, city
events.
We will wait until November to develop.
3. Living Christmas Tree Program.
We endorse the program and believe it should advertised. We support having
approved nurseries listed in the water bill. Trees may be donated to the city if
resident doesn't have space in their yard.
