Much discussion also went into the landscaping for shade and wind buffering for the
pedestrians. Jerry is very interested in our proposed plant list for the landscaping.
The construction plans are to be done by the end of the year.
Jerry is most willing to return to HFAB with a rough landscape plan in October or
November for our input and plant lists.
The Coal Creek path should also connect with the pedestrian plan for the overpass
changes. Heather believes that it is planned to be connected.
We will have Heather and Jerry on our November agenda.
City Entries
Planning for ledge rock pillars at the entries to each city. Smaller pilasters would be at .
the transit stops and on each end of the overpass. Are trying to synthesize what
Louisville and Superior have been doing with ledge rock.
The city of Louisville and Town of Superior will be having a joint review meeting next
Wednesday, September 10 at 10AM at the Point (Key Bank building in Superior). This
is open to the public and all are encouraged to attend. Louisville's City Council will be
formally reviewing the plan at the September 17 regular council session.
2. Arbor Day/Historical Garden Planning
Tabled to the November agenda.
3. City of Louisville Open Space Management Plan
The city council is having a work session on September 23 (not 9/9) at the library
conference room.
D. Agenda Items for Next Meeting
The next meeting will be held entirely in the arboretum, weather permitting. All business
will be limited to that of arboretum development and maintenance.
Adjournment:
Meeting was adjourned at 8:35PM by Susan. The next general meeting will be at
5:OOPM on October 2 at the arboretum with Chuck. This meeting will be only about the
arboretum and will be conducted on -site.
