LOUISVILLE HORTICULTURE AND FORESTRY BOARD <br />Meeting Minutes <br />December 4, 2003 <br />Opening: <br />The regular meeting of the Louisville Horticulture and Forestry Advisory Board was <br />called to order at 7:04PM on December 4 in Louisville Recreation staff conference room <br />by Susan Spalding. <br />Present: <br />Susan Spaulding, Chair <br />Betty Solek <br />David-Russell <br />Michael Frontczak <br />Judith Turner <br />Terry Cook <br />Chris Lichty, City Forester <br />Guests: <br />None <br />A. Approval of Minutes <br />• The minutes of the previous meeting were unanimously approved as distributed. <br />B. Old Open Business <br />Xeric Garden Plant Selection <br />Susan visited Mikl Brawner at Harlequin's Garden and distributed the following <br />documents: <br />• Harlequin's Gardens Nursery's Xeriscape groundcovers display and test beds <br />plant descriptions <br />• <br />• Non - native plants in Harlequin's Gardens Rock Garden <br />• Xeriscape Perennials & Biennials for Sun <br />• Xeriscape Rock Garden: Native Plants <br />• Xeriscape Ornamental Grasses <br />• Harlequin's Gardens Native Plants Offered <br />Chris distributed the "Suggested Native Plants for Horticultural Use on the Front Range <br />of Colorado" from the Colorado Native Plant Society and suggested looking at <br />www.rmrp.com for the picture gallery. Chris distributed a concept drawing of a Xeric <br />Demonstration Garden signage atop a photo of the berms. <br />Terry suggested defining selection requirement specifications for the plants to be used in <br />the Xeric demonstration garden. The discussion then went as follows: <br />• Maintenance requirements should not be high or difficult <br />
