Memorandum <br />To: BRaD and LRC <br />From: Bonnie Star, Economic Development Director <br />Date: February 6, 2012 <br />RE: Presentation by Mary Ann Heaney, CIH, CSP <br />The Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board asked one of their members, Mary Ann Heaney, to <br />approach all city boards and commissions with a presentation entitled Livable City Concepts <br />and Opportunities for Louisville. <br />Below is information from the City's website about that Board (LSAB). <br />The Sustainability Advisory Board identifies opportunities for sustainable practices and <br />resource conservation throughout the City and advises City Council on such matters. <br />The City Council originally created the Recycling Board in 1988 and it later became the <br />Resource Conservation Advisory Board. In 2010 the board changed its name and <br />expanded its scope to include all sustainability practices. <br />VISION: Moving Louisville towards a more sustainable future. <br />MISSION: Promoting sustainability through energy efficiency, resource conservation, <br />and localization to better the environment, social well-being, and economic vitality of the <br />City of Louisville. <br />The Board consists of seven members each of whom is appointed by the City Council to <br />a term of four years. <br />
