City Council Finance Committee Meeting Minutes 09/17/12 Page 3 of 4 Finance Director Watson stated that projections have been increased for sales tax due to the continued and sustained increase in revenues. Also, based on input from Parks & Recreation and the Planning & Building Departments, the revenue projection for the Recreation Center revenue has been decreased slightly and the revenue projection for building-related revenue increased significantly. Finance Director Watson stated that these projections will provide the starting point for the 2013 budget process. Councilmember Keany stated his opinion that one-time revenue generated from the accelerated build-out of Steel Ranch not be included in General Fund revenues during the 2013 budget process. City Manager Fleming and Finance Director Watson stated that the large spike in building-related revenue anticipated will peak and then decline sooner rather than later, but that the revised revenue trends and analysis are included as part of the City’s 5-year fiscal plan. FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDING AUGUST 31, 2012 The Accounting Manager presented the Financial Statements for the first eight months of 2012.
