Business Retention & Development Committee <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 1, 2012 <br />Page 3of 3 <br />to the hospital. An interchange probably is not going to happen, but there was discussion about <br />whether an ambulance only access could be provided. Scott Reichenberg asked if the City could <br />work on this through CDOT. No expansion is planned for the hospital but possibility exists for the <br />need for another medical office building. <br />Fresca – <br />Met with CEO –Company is looking for additional space. Company is a partner to <br />General Mills. Each product line supported has its own space in the building. One issue brought <br />up are the frequent power outages that can cause loss of product. Company would like to have <br />bus access for their employees.The Planning staff is doing a study of the need for a route toCTC, <br />but need ridership. A suggestion was made for a survey to go out to CTC employees as to who <br />would use a bus. <br />Babolat – <br />Happy in Louisville, good quality of life, transportation is also an issue, and there is a <br />need for more food options in CTC. Company is planning to grow 25-30% so will need more <br />space. US 36 difficult to travel on. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENTBRIEFING <br />Aaron reported that the Safeway property development goes to Planning Commission the end of <br />the month. <br />Michael Menaker asked if staff could release BAPs for feedback more than 48 hours prior to City <br />Council. Aaron responded that staff plans to treat BAPs the same as always. BAP is released in <br />the packet on the Friday before the Council meeting. Council member Sackett also asked to see <br />the BAP earlier. <br />Mock-up of patios will be available end of the month for public to view. Public Works Director <br />says he can store the patios. Director Russ indicated included in this discussion will be how to <br />get water and electricity to the patios. <br />Highway 42 Gateway Project Community Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, October 3, at 6:00 <br />p.m. and design alternatives for Highway 42 and initial design of the South Street Gateway <br />underpass will be presented. <br />th <br />Public meeting scheduled Thursday, October 4 <br />, at 7:00 p.m. togather ideas from the public on <br />the grain elevator.
