City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 21, 2007 <br />Page 3 of 9 <br />• The Louisville ResourcE; Conservation Board (LRCAB) is recommending <br />the City adopt policies Encouraging residential and commercial <br />construction meet green building standards. <br />• An offer been made to a Finance Director candidate and if accepted, the <br />new Finance Director will begin on October 1. Acting Finance Director <br />Alan Miller will continue to assist the City until that time. <br />• Director of Recreation and Senior Services Keith Williams is leaving the <br />City on September 3. An evaluation will be made of whether the Land <br />Management and Recreation Departments should be combined. <br />• An employee/all staff meeting will be scheduled for September 5 or 6. <br />• Consent Agenda Item ~D, the letter from the auditing firm Swanhorst & <br />Company, LLC, consenting to a one year extension on the auditing <br />service contract. <br />Land Management Director Robson reported the LRCAB strongly recommends <br />the City consider adopting GrE;en Building Standards. <br />City Clerk Varra reported on the Candidate process for Mayor and Council: <br />• Three seats are open can Council, one in each ward. Petitions must be <br />signed by 25 registered voters from within the municipal ward. <br />• Mayoral candidates can collect signatures from all three wards. <br />• Petitions must be returned before 5:00 p.m., Monday, August 27, 2007. <br />• Seven candidates have: picked up candidates petition packets, and two <br />petitions have been returned. <br />Mayor Sisk offered his condolences to the Colacci family and recognized Joe <br />Colacci for his many contributions to Louisville. He also offered condolences to <br />the Rudy Slavec family. He reported on the success of the August 12 La Festa <br />event and reminded the residents of the Labor Day weekend festivities. <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br />BUSINESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM <br />DISCUSSION/DIRECTION <br />BUSINESS ASSISTANCE PROPOSAL <br />Becky Hogan, EDge Consulting, 56 Steele Street, Denver, CO requested Council <br />discussion and direction on three business assistance proposals. <br />1) PROJECT EDWARD -Proposes to construct a 62,350 SF multi-tenant single <br />story office/flex space. The owner is a long term investor in Louisville. The <br />investment for the project is $3.5 Million and would create up to 250 jobs. Staff <br />recommended a Business Assistance Package of $43,290, which is based on <br />
