<br />RESOLUTION NO. 36 <br />SERIES 1994 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION ENCOURAGING THE UNITED STATES POSTAL SERVICE TO <br />MAINTAIN lHE LOUISVILLE POST OFFICE AT ITS PRESENT DOWNTOWN <br />LOCA TION OF 637 FRONT STREET, LOUISVILLE, COLORADO <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the present downtown locatiOn of the United States Postal Service's Louisville <br />Post Office provides convenient, efficient and high-quality postal service to Louisville <br />citizens; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the present downtown location of the Louisville Post Office contributes to the <br />Louisville economy by offering businesses and citizens centralized postal service; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS. the Louisville Post Office serves as a significant part of Louisville's Historic <br />Downtown area by adding to the area's character and uniqueness. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the CIty of LOUIsvIlle, State of Colorado, and the UnIted States of AmerIca have <br />participated in contributing funds to enhance, beautify and restore the City of Louisville's <br />unIque and appealing downtown area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, it is desirable that the downtown of the City of LOUIsville be maintained as a <br />viable part of the communIty, and the Louisville Post Office is a major component of that <br />vIability; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the LouisvIlle Post Office has been providing services to the City of Louisville, <br />the LOUISVille PublIc Library, the County of Boulder's Branch Offices, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS. any proposed relocation of the LOUIsville Post Office would be injurious to the <br />citizens of Louisville, and counterproductive to the long-term goals of the City of Louisville. <br />
