Local Licensing Authority
Minutes
March 28, 2005
Attorney Light brought the Authority's attention to some of the annotations on the
application that were a result of Secretary Hanson working with the applicant to
address questions raised by the attorney's review. Attorney Light had some
further questions for Mr. Khan. Light asked Mr. Khan if he had any ownership
interest in the business. He stated he did not have interest in Maharaja, Inc. He
and Ms. Khatun had had an interest in a beer and wine license in Golden but
have surrendered that license. He also had interest in other licenses but all
those businesses have been sold. His interest in this business is as manager
only. Attorney Light then questioned the source of funds for the business. Mr.
Khan explained where the funds came from. Attorney Light commented the
applicant needed to more thoroughly explain on the application how those funds
were obtained on question number 15 on the individual histories.

Attorney Light asked about any disciplinary action received on any of the other
licenses. Mr. Khan stated the restaurant in Golden was cited for serving to an
underage person. This is the license that has been surrendered. Attorney Light
asked if any disciplinary action had been received at any of the other previously
owned establishments. Mr. Khan responded there had been some violations.
Mr. Khan was asked if he had taken server training. He responded he had some
years ago. He said he plans to send his employees to training.

Mr. Khan stated because of the size of this restaurant, they are hoping to be able
to host large parties and would definitely like to have a liquor license.

Wilson moved the Authority find the applicant of good moral character, the
inhabitants of the neighborhood desire the license be granted, the license will
meet the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood, all City and state law
requirements have been met and based on these findings, the Local Licensing
Authority approve the issuance of a hotel and restaurant license for Maharaja,
Inc. d/b/a Maharaja Cuisine of India conditioned upon the Licensee providing a
complete answer to question 15 on the individual history.
