<br />Local Licensing Authority <br />Minutes <br />March 28, 2005 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />Attorney Light brought the Authority's attention to some of the annotations on the <br />application that were a result of Secretary Hanson working with the applicant to <br />address questions raised by the attorney's review. Attorney Light had some <br />further questions for Mr. Khan. Light asked Mr. Khan if he had any ownership <br />interest in the business. He stated he did not have interest in Maharaja, Inc. He <br />and Ms. Khatun had had an interest in a beer and wine license in Golden but <br />have surrendered that license. He also had interest in other licenses but all <br />those businesses have been sold. His interest in this business is as manager <br />only. Attorney Light then questioned the source of funds for the business. Mr. <br />Khan explained where the funds came from. Attorney Light commented the <br />applicant needed to more thoroughly explain on the application how those funds <br />were obtained on question number 15 on the individual histories. <br /> <br />Attorney Light asked about any disciplinary action received on any of the other <br />licenses. Mr. Khan stated the restaurant in Golden was cited for serving to an <br />underage person. This is the license that has been surrendered. Attorney Light <br />asked if any disciplinary action had been received at any of the other previously <br />owned establishments. Mr. Khan responded there had been some violations. <br />Mr. Khan was asked if he had taken server training. He responded he had some <br />years ago. He said he plans to send his employees to training. <br /> <br />Mr. Khan stated because of the size of this restaurant, they are hoping to be able <br />to host large parties and would definitely like to have a liquor license. <br /> <br />Wilson moved the Authority find the applicant of good moral character, the <br />inhabitants of the neighborhood desire the license be granted, the license will <br />meet the reasonable requirements of the neighborhood, all City and state law <br />requirements have been met and based on these findings, the Local Licensing <br />Authority approve the issuance of a hotel and restaurant license for Maharaja, <br />Inc. d/b/a Maharaja Cuisine of India conditioned upon the Licensee providing a <br />complete answer to question 15 on the individual history. Mulvahill seconded. <br />Roll Call Vote: Mulvahill - yes, Koertje - yes, Rommelfanger - yes and Wilson - <br />yes. <br /> <br />Police Department Reports <br /> <br />A. Incident Report - Henry's - 3/12/2005 <br /> <br />Detective Gordanier stated she talked with the officer on this incident and he <br />would like some time to do some follow up investigation. The Authority decided <br />to table this item until the next meeting. <br />
