Louisville City Council Meeting <br />November 6, 2001 <br />Page 14 <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that Council send Ordinance No. 1372, Series 2001, as <br />amended, out for publication and set a public hearing for November 20, 2001, seconded <br />by Brown. All in favor. Mayer and Howard excused. <br /> <br />Brown stated that he wished to address an item under Council Information Comments on <br />Pertinent Items not on the Agenda. Brown announced the death of Jeffrey Edge, a gifted <br />performer and past member of the Arts and Humanities Board. He recognized Jeffrey <br />Edge for volunteering for various events and for his contributions to the community. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION .. Consultation with attorneys representing the City with <br />respect to pending litigation. Pending litigation shall include cases wherein a lawsuit is <br />actually commenced, and any situation where the person requesting the executive session <br />believes in good faith that a lawsuit may result. The Council may discuss settlement <br />strategies in an executive session. (Louisville Code of Ethics, Ordinance No. 1079, <br />Series 1992 - Chapter 2.90 § 2.90.090 (C) - Authorized Topics). <br /> <br />Keany asked to be excused from the executive session and the balance of the meeting. <br /> <br />Belinda Goebel read the Section 2.90.050 of the Municipal Code, which governs the <br />topics for discussion during an Executive Session. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light reported that Councilman Keany would remain for the vote on the <br />Executive Session. He explained that a two-thirds vote is required for an Executive <br />Session. <br /> <br />MOTION: Davidson moved that Council go into Executive Session to discuss pending <br />litigation with the City Attorney. All in favor. Mayer and Howard excused. <br /> <br />The Council adjourned to Executive Session at 9:15 p.m. Councilman Keany was <br />excused from the meeting at 9:16 p.m. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS ITEMS SUSPENDED <br /> <br />ao <br /> <br />City Administrator Requested the City Council Convene an Executive Session <br />for the Purpose of Consultation with respect to Pending Litigation (Centennial <br />Valley Properties, IV, LLC v.
