Louisville City Council Meeting <br />November 20, 2001 <br />Page 12 <br />Keany stated that he would support the ordinance and requested that the City of <br />Louisville continue with the negotiations on the conservation easements. <br /> <br />VOTE: Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 6-0. Levihn excused. <br /> <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1371, SERIES 2001 - AN ORDINANCE INCREASING <br />WATER RATES IN THE CITY OF LOUSIVILLE, COLORADO - 2nd reading - <br />public hearing (advertised Daily Camera 11/09/01) <br /> <br />Davidson called for City Attorney introduction. <br /> <br />City Attorney Light read Ordinance No. 1371, Series 2001. <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Finance Director Dianne Ray reviewed that the current water rates were increased last <br />year by 2%. Ordinance No. 1371, Series 2001 approves an increase for 2002 of 2%, and <br />will become effective January 1, 2002. <br /> <br />Davidson opened the public hearing and asked if anyone in the audience wished to speak <br />for or against Ordinance No. 1371, Series 2001. Hearing none, Davidson closed the <br />public hearing. <br /> <br />COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> <br />Davidson asked how much the cost of living index has risen in the last year. Ray <br />projected 3.2% for 2002 and 4.5% for 2001. <br /> <br />Davidson commented that the City's water rates would be raised less than half of the cost <br />of living. <br /> <br />Brown stated that the water rates had not increased in several years. He stated that <br />Council has committed to address the City's water policy and that this ordinance is a <br />continuum of long-range plans. He stressed that this ordinance is not part of the Home <br />Rule Charter, but simply a part of the long-term water policy. <br /> <br />Davidson stated that the minimum monthly charge for water would be increased by $.27 <br />per month. <br /> <br />Davidson asked if any members of the public wished to speak in favor or against <br />Ordinance No. 1371, Series 2001. Hearing none, Davidson closed the public hearing. <br /> <br />MOTION: Keany moved that Council approve Ordinance No. 1371, Series 2001, <br />seconded by Howard. Roll call vote was taken. The motion passed by a vote of 6-0. <br />Levihn excused. <br /> <br />12 <br /> <br /> <br />
