<br />VI.2013 Officer election; New Members; Open Government Training—Unanimous <br />election of Mike Frontczak as chair, Theresa Rounds as vice-chair, and Ellen Toon as <br />secretary. New members are Neal Griggsmiller, Eric Gustafson, and Mark Newland. <br />Next open government training session will take place in late March or early April— <br />Polly will notify HFAB members who are due for training. <br />VII.Posting Notices of Public Meetings—Members approved posting of HFAB meeting <br />notifications in the following locations: City Hall, Recreation Center, Library, Police <br />Department/Court Building, and City website. <br />VIII.2013 HFAB Event Calendar—1) Possible Library talks in March or April by Carol <br />O’Meara and/or staff horticulturist from Botanical Interests; 2) Arbor Day (third week <br />in April) tree planting activity at Louisville Elementary School; 3) Arboretum pergola <br />dedication in June or July (after sod and plants have been installed.) Other possible <br />events include an Arboretum kite-flying activity and participation in the Street Faire. <br />IX.Renovation of Arboretum Xeric Garden and other projects—The Xeric Garden as <br />currently configured is very expensive to maintain. Discussion of alternative designs, <br />including leveling the berm, changing irrigation systems, and planting with drought- <br />tolerant shrubs as a demonstration garden. April is the deadline for inclusion in the <br />2014 budget.
