The main focus of the
-
last meeting was on ByLaws for the Foundation. The Subcommittee used the Louisville
Public Library Foundation By-Laws as a template to develop a structure for the Foundation
based on data gathered from other area museum foundations. Next meeting: Friday, February
15, 2013 at 10:30AM in the Board Meeting room at the Library.
On a related matter, Lynn Koglin stated that he went to two other groups – the Revitalization
Board and the Historic Preservation Committee (HPC) – to present our plans for a new building
and the development of the foundation. There was some discussion about the best location for
the new building, and the HPC would like to have input in the process. Both groups were
supportive and will share ideas back and forth. Lynn Koglin plans to speak with the Planning
Commission and Jennifer Strand will speak with the Cultural Council.
C.Membership, Fundraising, and Events:
There were 75 new paid memberships received in
2012 and 11 Business Sponsorships have been renewed. Some LHC members gave
complimentary memberships in 2012; this may result in more new members. The fundraising
total for 2012 was over $20,000.00.
In order to generate more Business Sponsorships, Lynn Koglin hopes to get a flyer included in
a Chamber of Commerce brochure. The next mailing is in April, and they need inserts by mid-
March. Lynn Koglin, Dan Melllish, and Andy Williams will work on developing a budget
request and proofs for a flyer by the February LHC meeting.
D.Approval of Expenses
1.
