<br />animal to be confined indoors or placed and <br />kept in a proper secure enclosure, except as <br />otherwise specifically permitted herein. <br /> <br />2. The owner of the animal must be at least <br />eighteen (18) years of age. <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />If the vicious animal is a dog, <br />shall comply with the dog <br />requirements in this chapter. <br /> <br />the owner <br />licensing <br /> <br />4. The owner shall present to the Director of <br />Public Safety proof that the owner has <br />procured liability insurance in a minimum <br />amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00) to <br />cover any damages caused or which may be <br />caused by the vicious animal during the <br />calendar year or during the period covered by <br />the dog license if the animal is a dog. The <br />insurance shall contain a provision requiring <br />the insurance company to provide written <br />notice to the Director of Public Safety of any <br />cancellation not less than fifteen (15) days <br />prior to any cancellation, termination, or <br />expiration of the policy. <br /> <br />5. At all times when a vicious animal is on the <br />property of the owner, the owner shall keep <br />the animal conf ined indoors or in a secure <br />enclosure. At all times when a vicious animal <br />is away from the property of the owner, the <br />owner shall keep the vicious animal either <br />securely leashed with a leash no longer than <br />four (4) feet in length capable of restraining <br />the animal, and muzzled, or in a secure <br />temporary enclosure. <br /> <br />6. The owner shall have posted at each possible <br />entrance to owner's property where the vicious <br />animal is kept a conspicuous and clearly <br />legible sign warning that there is a vicious <br />animal on the property. Such sign must be at <br />least eight (8) inches by ten (10) inches in <br />rectangular dimensions and shall contain only <br />the words "VICIOUS ANIMAL" in lettering not <br />less than two (2) inches in height. <br /> <br />7. The owner shall, at the owner's expense, have <br />the vicious animal spayed or neutered, and <br />present to the Director of Public Safety <br />documentary proof from a licensed veterinarian <br />that this sterilization has been performed. <br /> <br />5 <br />
