City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />October 16, 2007 <br />Page 2 of 15 <br />Mayor Sisk called for changes to the consent agenda. City Manager Fleming <br />requested Consent Agenda Item 4H include approval to cancel the October 23 <br />Study Session. Hearing no ether changes, Mayor Sisk moved to approve the <br />Consent Agenda, as amended, seconded by Council Member Yarnell. All in <br />favor. <br />A. Approval of Bills <br />B. Approval of Minutes (10/2/07) <br />C. Proclamation -- National Family Literacy Day <br />D. Proclamation -- Recognition of Inez Buggs, founding clinician <br />of Clinica Campesina Family Health Services, for 30 years of <br />services provided to the residents of Louisville <br />E. Proclamation -- Miss Teen USA <br />F. Resolution No. 55, Series 2007 - A Resolution Proclaiming <br />October as National Arts and Humanities Month and October <br />25, 2007 as Arts and Humanities Day <br />G. Resolution No. 56, Series 2007 - A Resolution Approving the <br />2008 Operating Plan and Budget for the Main Street Louisville <br />Business Improvement District <br />H. Approval to move the November 6, 2007 City Council meeting <br />to November 5, 2007and cancel the October 23, 2007 Study <br />Session <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />Doug Grinbergs, 530 W. Sycamore Circle, Louisville, CO addressed the aviation <br />noise problem and stressed it's getting worse and more control is needed. He <br />noted the Boulder County Commissioners have filed a report stating more public <br />input is required. He urged Council to join with other municipalities and <br />governmental groups to forcE; the FAA to be more responsive to the public. <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br />THE AGENDA <br />Council Member Brown noted the consent agenda included a proclamation, <br />recognizing Hilary Cruz, a Louisville resident, who was named Miss Teen USA <br />on August 24. He congratul<~ted Monarch student, Michael Ford, who will <br />compete in the Karate World Championship in Istanbul, Turkey. <br />Council Member Muckle congratulated the Colorado Rockies for advancing to the <br />World Series. He stated his disappointment that the historic facade at the <br />Louisville Middle School will be destroyed in the reconstruction project. Mayor <br />Pro Tem Brown served on the Middle School Design Advisory Team and <br />reported the preservation of the historic facade was given all due consideration, <br />but due to its infirm condition it was determined it could not be saved. He noted <br />the purpose of the project w<~s to provide more space for educating children. <br />
