Update on Status of Sikora Art Project <br /> <br />Joseph's woodcarving is two weeks from completion. Alicia will obtain an invoice <br />for processing and payment by the Library foundation. The Board discussed the <br />possibility of planning an event to unveil this art, separate from the one that will <br />take place next spring for all the public art in the building. <br /> <br />Library staff will coordinate and cross-promote a Library art and music event and <br />the Holiday Home Tour scheduled for December 8. <br /> <br />7. New Business <br /> <br />A. Trustee Informational Comments on Pertinent Items Not on the Agenda <br /> <br />Lisa requested that a draft of the agenda be sent out at least one week before it is <br />due to the City for posting. Karen will send out the draft agenda as requested. <br /> <br />B. Discussion Regarding financial Contributions from the Town of Superior <br /> <br />Anne reported that at the recent meeting of the Library Task force, the Town of <br />Superior had proposed that after 2008 they will make an annual contribution of <br />$60,000. They have further stipulated that the City of Louisville may charge an <br />additional fee not to exceed $50 per household. <br /> <br />After a discussion, the Board agreed to formally restate to City Council their <br />position on the necessity for equitable financial participation by the Town of <br />Superior for their 20% usage of library services. The Board will await developments <br />on this issue for further discussion at the next meeting on November 15. <br /> <br />8. Director's Report <br /> <br />A. Statistics <br /> <br />The year-to-date statistics were reviewed. Anne noted that the Library <br />experienced its highest circulation ever in June and July. Anne distributed copies <br />of an article from the Daily Camera newspaper (Sept. 3, 2007) that featured the <br />Library's high usage, as well as the usage and current financial support by the <br />Town of Superior. <br /> <br />Anne noted that inter-library loans through the Prospector network were also the <br />highest ever, and that courier rates were on the rise. <br /> <br />9.
