Update on progress with gardens. <br />To get on the contact list for the gardens email <br />annie@growinggardens.com <br />2) All-County Open Space Advisory Committee Meeting: <br />Ember and Tom provided highlights from the meeting <br />COSA (Colorado Open Space Association) provides a leadership <br />program for open space staff and board members <br />Continued meetings were desired and will be scheduled. <br />3) Response to Public Comments: Trail resurfacing and Hecla signage <br />Signage is in place <br />4) Davidson Mesa Crossing: <br />Movement and improvement of crosswalk is scheduled to be reviewed <br />by City Council on November 6 <br />5) Herbicide Use <br />Horticultural and Forestry Advisory Board is discussing issue and will <br />be bringing recommendation to City Council. IPM (Integrated Pest <br />Management) plan is needed for all properties. <br />Significant recent mechanical weed removal has occurred on Davidson <br />Mesa and Gateway properties. They will be chemically treating a <br />patch of weeds on Davidson Mesa that is not conducive to mechanical <br />removal. They have also spot treated weeds on Coal Creek Trail. <br />6) Fischer Farms trail construction update <br />Construction will start on October 16. <br />7) Prarie Dogs <br />Flushing and live trapping prairie dogs for removal to Black-footed <br />ferret rehabilitation program is planned. <br />Complete removal behind police station. <br />Reducing population on Warembourg property. <br /> <br />Agenda Item for January Meeting: Discuss Prairie dog situation. <br />Management plan can be found on page 132 of the Joint Managemet <br />plan. <br /> <br />Board Updates <br />1) Discussion of county ballot issue 1 A - continuation of 0.1 % sales tax to <br />support open space acquisition and maintenance. <br />Dave moved that the Louisville OSAB support Boulder County's ballot <br />issue 1A. The board encourages the citizens of Louisville and Boulder <br />County to consider the importance of the preservation, maintenance, <br />and purchase of county open space lands for the enjoyment of all. <br />Approved unanimously. <br />Dave moved that Tom send the letter we discussed in support of the ballot <br />issue to the local newspapers, signed by all board members present. <br />Approved unanimously. <br /> <br />Ranking of Open Space Properties <br />
