Staff Updates 1) Harney-Lastoka Volunteer Project: 20 volunteers reseeded sections of the property that could not be seeded by machine. 2) Empire Road Improvements: Boulder County improved the drainage at the crossing. New sign has been placed here and at several other properties. 3) Trail Maintenance: Staff is fixing water erosion damage on various sections of trails. Board members pointed out several other areas of concern. 4) Herbicide Use on Open Space: Ember provided a very good presentation summarizing noxious weed issues and management. Board Updates Tom brought up an incident where police were called in response to people carrying paintball and pellet guns on open space. The police did not believe that it was a violation. Open Space use regulations state that projectile weapons (including paintball guns) are prohibited. For the February agenda, the board would like to invite a representative from the police department to discuss code enforcement in general. Last month Tom submitted a letter on behalf of OSAB members in support of Ballot Issue 1 A that was published in the Daily Camera. Damyanovich Management Direction The board discussed options for the property. There was general agreement on continuing agricultural use, with the potential addition of facilities for accessing the Davidson Mesa trail system. Ember will continue to develop the plan to be reviewed by the board when complete. Set Date for Meeting with Other OSAB Tom will invite Superior's open space board to our January meeting. Agenda items will be determined at the December meeting. Discussion Items for Next Meeting Discuss topics for meeting with Superior's open space board. Discuss management plan for Daughenbaugh with respect to prairie dog management. Update on Coal Creek in stream flow water rights. Update on McCaslin road crossing at Davidson Mesa.
