:RESOLUTION N0.46, <br />SERIES 2007 <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE AND CARTER ~~ BURGESS FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES FOR <br />THE STATE HIGHWAY 42 AND SOUTH BOULDER ROAD INTERSECTION <br />WHEREAS, the City was se;lected to receive federal and state funds from the Colorado <br />Department of Transportation (CDOT) to improve the intersection of State Highway 42 and <br />South Boulder Road. <br />WHEREAS, there has been proposed for the project a Contract between the City and <br />Carter & Burgess for professional services for the State Highway 42 and South Boulder Road <br />intersection. The professional services will also include assistance in the completion of an <br />Access Control Plan for the State Highway 42 Corridor. <br />WHEREAS, the City is authorized by law to enter into such Contract, and the City <br />Council finds and determines that execution of the Contract is in the best interest of the City and <br />its citizens. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE ][T RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLOP:ADO: <br />1. The City Council hereby approves that certain Contract between the City of <br />Louisville and Carter & Burgess for professional services for the State Highway 42 and South <br />Boulder Road intersection. A true copy of the Contract is attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein by this reference. <br />2. The Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the Contract on behalf of the City <br />Council of the City of Louisville, except that the Mayor is hereby further authorized to negotiate <br />and approve such revisions to the Contract as the Mayor determines are necessary or desirable <br />for the protection of the City, so long; as the essential terms and conditions of the Contract are not <br />altered. <br />3. The Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to undertake additional work <br />not to exceed $25,000 which maybe; required by CDOT in order to obtain environmental <br />clearance for the project and advance the project through preliminary engineering. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of September, 2007. <br />BY: <br />Charle~'L.~isk, Mayor <br />City of Louisville, Colorado <br />
