<br />ORDINANCE NO. 1481 <br />SERIES 2005 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE 5 OF THE LOUISVILLE MUNICIPAL CODE <br />TO ADD A NEW CHAPTER 5.06 REGARDING THE REGULATION OF VENDORS, <br />SOLICITORS AND PEDDLERS CONDUCTING BUSINESS IN THE CITY OF <br />LOUISVILLE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 1384, Series 2002, codified as Chapter 5.04 of the <br />Louisville Municipal Code, the City has set forth provisions concerning the procedures and <br />criteria for registration of businesses within the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to prohibit door-to door solicitations as necessary <br />to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents and citizens of the City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to amend Title 5 of the Louisville Municipal Code <br />to add a new Chapter 5.06 regarding the regulation of vendors, solicitors and peddlers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of such regulations, the City desires to enact certain prohibitions on <br />door-to-door solicitations and to exempt from such prohibitions certain activities of persons <br />distributing information in the exercise of their first amendment rights; persons representing <br />bona-fide religious, charitable, school and civic organizations, or other organizations eligible for <br />exemption under Section 501(c) of the Internal Revenue Code; and businesses engaged in selling <br />and delivering goods or service by vehicle over a fixed route from previous orders or on a <br />regular schedule. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF LOUISVILLE, COLORADO: <br /> <br />Section 1. Title 5 of the Louisville Municipal Code IS hereby amended by the <br />addition of a new Chapter 5.06, to read as follows: <br /> <br />Chapter 5.06 <br /> <br />PEDDLERS, SOLICITORS AND VENDORS <br /> <br />Sec. 5.06.010 Purpose of provisions; interpretation. <br />Sec. 5.06.020 Uninvited solicitations prohibited. <br />Sec. 5.06.030 All solicitations prohibited by posting of "No Solicitation" <br />or "No Trespassing" sign. <br />Sec. 5.06.040 Attempt to obtain. <br />Sec. 5.06.050 Notice prohibiting solicitors. <br />Sec. 5.06.060 City council approval. <br />Sec. 5.06.070 Violation; penalty. <br /> <br />1 <br />
