Louisville City Council Meeting <br />December 17, 2002 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Brown reported Nancy Nixon, Chairperson of the SCFD, County Cultural Committee, <br />was killed in a tragic auto accident in Louisville. He stated it is loss for the Arts <br />community and expressed Council condolences to the family. He reported several <br />citizens contacted him requesting Council appoint a Traffic Advisory Committee. <br /> <br />Brown addressed the traffic at Campus Drive and 88th Street and thanked Elizabeth <br />O'Donnell for bringing her ideas to the City Council's attention. He stated Council has <br />looked at many solutions, some of which O'Donnell had mentioned. He explained <br />Council has appointed citizens to the South Sub Committee that will address some of the <br />issues raised by O'Donnell. <br /> <br />REGULAR BUSINESS <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT - SOUTH SUB AREA COMMITTEE MEMBERS <br /> <br />Davidson reported that Council interviewed applicants for the South Sub Area <br />Committee on December 14 andl7. He stated he was impressed with the qualifications <br />of all the applicants and thanked all that applied. <br /> <br />Brown concurred with Mayor Davidson that the applicants were all talented, interested <br />and qualified. He explained, originally Council planned to appoint one individual from <br />each ward, however with the quality of the applicants, one additional member was <br />appointed. Brown nominated the following citizens to the South Sub Area Committee <br />Members: Don Durso, Clark Misner, Susan Morris and Chad Sholders. Brown <br />nominated the following Boulder Valley School District appointees to the South Sub <br />Area Committee: Monarch K-8 SIT Representative Mark Mueller, Monarch High School <br />SIT Representative Sheila Whitman. Levihn seconded the nominations. <br /> <br />VOTE: All in favor. Sisk abstained. Keany absent. <br /> <br />Brown encouraged all interested citizens to continue to look for opportunities to serve the <br />City of Louisville. He explained there would be many openings on committees and <br />boards at the beginning of the year. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 47, SERIES 2002 - A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING <br /> WATER RATES AND CHARGES <br /> <br />Davidson called for Staff presentation. <br /> <br />Finance Director Charlene Laus reported on the new water rate tables for residential and <br />non-residential accounts. She explained the rate table for residential accounts was <br />designed to encourage conservation. The rates are set to reward the consumer using <br />significantly low amounts of water and penalizing those consumers using significantly <br />high amounts of water during the month.
