LIBRARY Sc MUSEUM NEWS <br />LIBRARY MOBILE APP IS HERE! <br />The Library is pleased to announce the availability of <br />its mobile app through Google Play, Amazon , Apple® <br />iTunes® and the Apple App Store. The app, `Louisville Public <br />Library @ Your Fingertips', was developed for the Library by <br />Boopsie® (wwwboopsie.com), the industry leading mobile <br />solution for universities and libraries worldwide. The app can <br />be used on any network and on any phone with a data plan. <br />With the app, Library users can: <br />0Search the catalog, place requests, and discover new <br />and recommended books; <br />WCheck accounts and renew items; <br />aHelp' Outreach Program <br />Do you need help downloading eBooks or other digital con- <br />tent, but can't find a time to make it to the Library? We can <br />bring the help to you —at the Louisville Senior Center and <br />Vic's Espresso in Downtown Louisville. Watch the Library's <br />calendar for dates and times. <br />CHILDREN <br />Crafty Kids' Handmade Holiday Gifts <br />Thursday, December 13 5 -6 PM (ages 5 -12) <br />Come make handmade holiday gifts for friends and family. <br />No registration required. <br />Fairy Tale Ball <br />Saturday, January 12 1-2 PM (ages 3 -12) <br />Hear ye, hear ye! Gentlemen and ladies ages 3 -12 are invited <br />to the Fairy Tale Ball. Dress is fairy tale formal, so wear your <br />finest character costume to enjoy stories, snacks, music, and <br />activities. No registration required. <br />Spring Youth Art Show March 2013 <br />Budding artists start thinking about submitting a piece of art <br />for the Spring Youth Art Show. The event will open March 4 <br />and 5, and the exhibit runs through March. Applications will <br />be available in January at the Library or through Jane Evans <br />(revansj @comcast.net) of the Louisville Art Association. <br />TWEENS—YOUASKED, WE LISTENED! <br />Tween Tuesdays 4-5 PM <br />A recent Children's Department survey identified a demand <br />for programs for kids ages 9 -12. So, along with several special <br />programs, we have put together the weekly program —Tween <br />Tuesday. Every week is something new and different including <br />crafts, food challenges, contests, games, or experiments. It's <br />not really a party, but it sure feels like one. Check the <br />Teen website or Louisville Loft Facebook page for details. <br />ADULTS <br />Pathways to Parenting Success Series 6:30-8 PM <br />Boulder Psychological Services continues its series of parent- <br />ing programs with: <br />December 20, Strengthening Reading Confidence & Skills <br />January 24, Understanding & Dealing with Teen Depression <br />February 28, Adolescent Substance Abuse <br />March 21, Understanding and Managing Sibling Rivalry <br />Bring your children (preschool age and older) to the Chil- <br />dren's Department for crafts during the program. <br />CU Outreach in 2013 <br />Over the past months, the Library hosted programs about <br />animal emotions, clean energy, safe drinking water, and par- <br />ticipated in a music and storytelling program. These special <br />events were presented through CU Outreach. We're happy <br />to report that other CU programs are coming back to the <br />Library in 2013.
