Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />March 18, 2013 <br />Page 8 of 9 <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the intent of the recommendation. <br />Haley stated she agreed with Koertje that the process should not be changed. <br />La Grave recommends Council to reject both proposals at this time, while allowing the <br />stabilization to happen. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the RFP itself. <br />Koertje made a motion to go forward with the Old Town Group, with the contract coming <br />back to HPC with more specifics. <br />Discussion ensued regarding the motion. <br />Stewart recommended we take two more steps before we go forward with a <br />recommendation with a developer. <br />La Grave stated there were far too many unknowns to choose a respondent at this time. <br />Koertje asked if there was a second to his motion. <br />Haley seconded the motion. <br />Watson stated there wasn’t enough information to make a decision. <br />Motion fails 2-3 (Koertje and Haley aye). <br />La Grave recommended a second motion to pursue stabilization, options available, and <br />a new RFP. <br />Watson made a motion to forward a recommendation to Council to pursue basic safety <br />stabilization, detoxification, and pursue a better definition of the RFP. <br />La Grave seconded the motion. <br />Motion carries 4 – 1 (Koertje no) <br />Discussion – State grant application for Grain Elevator <br />Stewart opened the item and asked for a presentation from DeJong. <br />DeJong presented the items in the packet. <br />Watson stated he doesn’t see anything in regards to detoxification. <br />DeJong stated it is included. <br />The commission approved the application by voice vote.
