Retail Building <br /> <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Tim Martersteck, 804 Trail Ridge Drive, Louisville, CO stated that he is a freshman at <br />Monarch High School and was given a U.S. Government class project to complete this <br />semester. He explained that the project requires that he select a topic that is important to <br />him, fully research the subject, interview individuals and perform action-orientated <br />services. Martersteck's chosen topic involves local government, and addresses the lack <br />of a Skate Park for inline skaters in Louisville. He explained that he completed the <br />research of the topic by compiling preliminary data, then interviewed Council member <br />Don Brown. Martersteck stated that he complied with the action-orientated service, by <br />surveying 14 Louisville residents. He then interviewed the Director of the YMCA Teen <br />Program, and received information about the City of Boulder' s Skate Parks, for <br />comparison purposes. He addressed the need of a Skate Park and stated his intent to <br />increase awareness of the lack of a Skate Park in Louisville. <br /> <br />Lou DellaCava, DellaCavafrebo Development Co. LLC, 5266 Waterstone Drive, <br />Boulder, CO commended the Planning and Public Works Department's staff. He stated <br />that the Planning Department and City Engineer Craig Kitzman was cooperative and <br />professional in addressing problems, which occurred during the planning process for <br />Christopher Plaza H, Phase II. He stated that they were treated fairly by the City staff, <br />and with respect and dignity. <br /> <br />Brown thanked Mr. DellaCava for his positive comments about City staff. <br /> <br />Brown thanked Tim Martersteck for his research and encouraged him to continue to work <br />toward a Skate Park in Louisville. <br /> <br />Brown congratulated John Sackett for being selected as a torchbearer for the Winter <br />Olympics. <br /> <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON <br /> THE AGENDA <br /> <br />Sisk reported on a Futures Conference held at Monarch High School that he and Council <br />member Brown attended. He voiced his concern that Louisville was not represented on <br />the Steering Committee. He asked the City Manager to investigate this matter to ascertain <br />if a Louisville representative can been appointed. He reported that the Steering <br />Committee would conduct nine meetings within the multi-school district area.
