Historic Preservation Commission <br />Meeting Minutes <br />May 20, 2013 <br />Page 5 of 9 <br /> <br />Robinson stated he was not sure how much DeJong looked into that before he <br />recommended to City Council to take on the search for a partner in this project. <br />La Grave was concerned about the City having to pay extra for an outside group to <br />manage the project. <br />Stewart stated he did not believe this was the right way for the City to move forward. <br />He asked for staff to bring this item back as a discussion item on the next agenda. <br />Koertje was primarily concerned of what delaying the grant will have on the state grant <br />application. <br />Discussion – Loans from the HPF <br />Stewart asked staff what were the next steps on this item. <br />Koertje stated he took out some uncertainties from the draft resolution. He was unsure <br />if the City Attorney has had a chance to review those changes. <br />Robinson stated he has not heard back from the City Attorney as of yet. <br />Koertje stated he also has another contact of a financial manager who would be willing <br />to discuss this program. <br />Watson asked if the minimum dollar amount, $500, was too low. <br />Stewart recommended $5,000. <br />Fasick stated $5,000 was too much. <br />Koertje stated he was just thinking of small amounts to initiate the program, but he will <br />continue to research on a better number. <br />Committee Reports – <br />Outreach committee <br />La Grave stated he was able to successfully work with Casa Allegre to get them to <br />apply for a commercial landmark. <br />Stewart asked if this item would be able to come forward next month based on the <br />social history requirement. <br />Robinson answered in the affirmative. <br />Commercial incentives workshop - none <br />LRC liaison
