compelling governmental interest in making an exception for the loudness of certain <br />sounds, such as warnings of imminent hazard. <br />Sec. 9.34.020. Definitions. <br />As used in this chapter, the following words are defined to mean: <br />A. Commercial district or commercial zone or commercial means any area zoned <br />community commercial (C-C), commercial business (C-B), administrative office (A-O), <br />business office (B-O), administrative or professional office (O), planned community zone <br />district, commercial or office (PCZD-C or PCZD-R), or mixed-use residential (MU-R). <br />B. Residential district or residential zone or residential means any area zoned <br />residential rural (R-R), residential estate (R-E), residential low density (R-L), residential <br />medium density (R-M), residential high density (R-H), commercial neighborhood (C-N), <br />planned community zone district, residential (PCZD-R), restricted rural residential (R- <br />RR), administrative office transition (AO-T), single family low density (SF-LD), single <br />family medium density (SF-MD), single family high density (SF-HD), single family rural <br />(SF-R), or single family estate (SF-E). <br />C. Industrial district or industrial zone or industrial means any area zoned <br />industrial (I), agricultural (A), planned community zone district, industrial or agricultural <br />(PCZD-I or PCZD-R), or for golf course use. <br />Sec. 9.34.030. Exceeding decibel sound levels prohibited. <br />A. No person shall: <br />1. Operate any type of vehicle, machine, or device; <br />2. Carry on any activity; or <br />3. Promote or facilitate the carrying on of any activity, which makes sound in <br />excess of the level specified in this section. <br />B. Sound from any source, other than a moving vehicular source located within <br />the public right-of--way, shall not exceed any of the following limits for its appropriate <br />zone: <br />1.
