City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />September 17, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 15 <br />Susan Honstein, 727 Pine Street, Louisville, CO explained the Cultural Council <br />forwarded a report to Council on the sculpture park. She inquired whether Council had <br />any questions relative to the report. She introduced Cultural Council member Blake <br />Welch, who will take the lead on the Sculpture Park Project. <br />Angela Layton, 619 W. Juniper Court, Louisville, CO explained she is working with a <br />group of individuals who are concerned about fracking. She felt this is a perfect time for <br />Council to look at emergency safety measures for the community. She stressed the <br />importance of being proactive. <br />APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />Mayor Muckle called for changes to the consent agenda. Mayor Pro Tem Dalton moved <br />to approve the consent agenda, seconded by Council member Keany. All were in <br />favor. Absent: Council member Loo. <br />A. Approval of Bills <br />B. Approve Resolution No. 48, Series 2013 — A Resolution Extending the <br />Suspension of Ordinance No. 1534, Subsection 3.20.412 Electronic <br />Database; Retailer Held Harmless <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />Mayor Muckle stated this has been a very dramatic week with the flood devastation in <br />Colorado and for the City of Louisville. Fortunately no lives were lost nor were there any <br />search and rescue efforts. There was significant damage to individual property owners <br />and significant damage to the City's municipal infrastructure. He reported 85 fifth - <br />graders from Fireside Elementary School were stranded near Jamestown, while <br />studying at an outdoor education center. He thanked the parents, teachers and <br />volunteers, who kept the students safe and entertained, until everyone could be airlifted <br />out by the Colorado National Guard on Saturday. <br />Mayor Muckle extended his and the City Council's condolences to the families of <br />Wesley Quinlan and Wiyanna Nelson, recent graduates of Centaur High School, who <br />perished in the Boulder Floods. <br />He reported on a call he received from Phillips 66, owners of ConocoPhillips property, <br />who still consider themselves part of the community. They have donated $250,000 to <br />the American Red Cross for flood relief in Boulder County. He thanked all the <br />volunteers who have helped their neighbors during this very difficult time. <br />
