Louisville Sustainability Advisory Board
Meeting Minutes
June 19, 2013

VIII.Update on Energy Audit
(Dave)
Dave met with Trent the graduate student from the University of Minnesota. We should
have the report available soon as a package to propose to City Council.

IX.Noise
(Mary Ann/Emily)
Joliet Woodson in Public Works is the main contact. The City is looking at all crossings. All
can be treated with approach gates and raised medians. The wayside horns must be
maintained by the city and the manufacturer provides the training. A budget has been set in
the amount of $400K to convert crossings. Maybe convert one crossing per year. City
Council has to approve expenditure for implementation.

X. Planning Commission.
Andy attended a special meeting hosted by the Building Departments lead by Troy
Russ to discuss the 2012 suite of building codes adoption. The discussion was
largely around fire sprinkler requirements. There was little discussion on the energy
or green building codes. I recommended that the International Green Construction
Code be studied over the next few years and be considered in 2015. Troy agreed
and mentioned that it affects more than one chapter of the Municipal Code, so it
would require more public discussion. The Building Code Board of Appeals will have
more discussions over the fall before adopting 2012 suite of codes, which Andy has
been invited to and will attend.

A side conversation to the above by LSAB was if LSAB should make a presence at
Public Planning meetings with new developments. Maintaining sustainable city
principles. Should LSAB look back at the com plan and see which principles are still
intact. Mary Ann offered to draft a plan if LSAB would provide feedback. All LSAB
members agreed to participate.

XI. Labor Day Festival.
programs we have presented and are currently working on. Dave set up a 7 question
survey on Survey Monkey. We will present the link for citizens to go and take the survey.
Lea Yancey from Boulder County Energy Smart Program will also man the booth and
provide information regarding their rebate program.

XII. Items for next meeting

OSAB board member will attend LSAB meeting to discuss new trail recommendations for
parks and open space. The City of Louisville solicited trail recommendations from the public
several years ago. Trail recommendations were reviewed by staff and OSAB members and
then were prioritized and added to the CIP schedule. The City has completed all of the
feasible recommended trails and is now looking for new recommendations.

XIII.Adjourn:
The meeting adjourned at 8:12 pm.
