Special Meeting Minutes
October 8, 2013
3. Voter Approval to Move Capital Projects Funding to General Fund.
4. Reduce General Fund Expenditures and Service Levels.
City Manager Fleming stated the intent was to have the funds to address the downward
trend in revenues, complete some of the capital projects and to maintain the parks and
open space land. That was also the rational for suggesting the expenditures for historic
preservation come out of the Historic Preservation Fund and expenditures for parks and
open space come out of the Conservation Trust Fund or those costs will come out of the
general fund. The only other option is to ask the voters for more flexibility, additional
revenue or scaling back on service.
install restrooms at the
Arboretum first rather than Aquarius. He suggested if the cost of the restrooms at the
Arboretum is significantly higher than expected, a solar vault should be considered.
BUDGET CALENDAR SIGNIFICANT DATES 2014 BUDGET PROCESS
October 15 City Council Meeting Conduct Public Hearing and identify any
further revisions
November 4 City Council Meeting Resolution Adopting the Budget,Resolution
Appropriating Funds and a Resolution Levying Taxes
DISCUSSION ITEMS FOR NEXT STUDY SESSIION ON OCTOBER 22, 2013 AND
POTENTIAL FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS
Mayor Pro Tem Dalton suggested the City Council explore how the developments in
Louisville have impacted the schools.
