Meeting Minutes <br />October 15, 2013 <br />Page 2 of 23 <br />PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA <br />There were no public comments. <br />APPROVAL OF THE CONSENT AGENDA <br />Mayor Muckle requested Consent Agenda Item 5E. Resolution No. 53, Series 2013 be <br />heard under the regular business agenda. <br />Council member Loo commented on Consent Agenda Item 5D, and explained because <br />the Centennial Valley Business Association no longer exists its member is being <br />removed from the BRaD Committee.She stressed the importance of the McCaslin, <br />Centennial Valley, Cherry and Dillon area businesses and if another business <br />organization comes forward from the area, they may have a member on the BRaD <br />Committee. <br />MOTION: Mayor Muckle moved to approve the consent agenda as amended, <br />seconded by Council member Keany. All were in favor. <br />COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE <br />AGENDA <br />Council member Loo reported Community Food Share, a non-profit food bank in <br />Broomfield and Boulder County, accepted a donation of 40,000 pounds of protein, from <br />Smithfield Foods. Smithfield Foods partnered with Safeway to give $3,000 in Safeway <br />gift cards. She congratulated Smithfield Foods for the wonderful donation. She urged <br />the public to donate to Community Food Share. <br />Mayor Muckle updated Council on the construction work on US 36.Express lanes are <br />th <br />being constructed from 88 Street in Louisville to Pecos. The second phase of the <br />project; from Louisville to Table Mesa is currently being designed, with construction <br />scheduled to begin in February. The project also includes the reconstruction of the <br />McCaslin Overpass. The first phase will be completed by the end of 2014 and the <br />second phase is scheduled for completion by the end of 2015. <br />35 <br />
