Based upon the estimated revenue projection, staff recommends the following: Proposed Assistance Approximate Value Building Permit-Fee Rebate 50% rebate on permit fees for tenant finish $15,000 (Excludes tap fees) Building Use Tax Rebate 50% rebate on Building Use Tax for core and shell and Tenant finish (excludes 0.375 (Y0 Open Space tax and 0.125% Historic Preservation tax) $24,000 Total Estimated Assistance $39,000 APPLICANT PRESENTATION Alan Benjamin, Benjamin West, explained Benjamin West is a liaison for everything from interior design to architecture for the hotel industry. They are a procurement agent and have over 2,000 vendors worldwide. They supply furniture, fixtures, operating supplies and equipment for the hotel industry. The firm has offices in Chicago, Dallas, Hong Kong, London, New Delhi, and Sao Paulo. COUNCIL COMMENT Mayor Pro Tem Dalton asked Mr. Benjamin if his office would remain in Lafayette. Mr. Benjamin stated his office would not remain in Lafayette. Council member Jasiak commented this package is what Council likes to see. She welcomed Mr. Benjamin to Louisville. Mayor Muckle concurred. City Manager Fleming recognized Broker Andrew Freeman for bringing companies into Louisville. MOTION: Council member Jasiak moved to approve Resolution No. 11, Series 2013, seconded by Council member Keany. Roll call vote was taken. The motion carried by a vote of 7-0. RESOLUTION No. 12, SERIES 2013 — A RESOLUTION APPROVING A BUSINESS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT WITH TWELVE DEGREE BREWING, LLC FOR THE CREATION OF A NEW RETAIL BUSINESS AT 820 MAIN STREET IN THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE Mayor Muckle requested a staff presentation. 27
