RELAY FOR LIFE OF EAST BOULDER COUNTY <br /> JULY 2, 2013 <br /> WHEREAS, the Relay For Life is the signature activity of the American <br /> Cancer Society; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Relay For Life celebrates cancer survivors and caregivers, <br /> remembers loved ones lost to the disease, and empowers <br /> individuals and communities to fight back against cancer; and <br /> WHEREAS, money raised during Relay For Life of East Boulder County <br /> supports the American Cancer Society's mission of saving lives <br /> and creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays — by <br /> helping people stay well, by helping people get well, by finding <br /> cures for cancer; and <br /> WHEREAS, Relay For Life helped fund more than $130 million in cancer <br /> research last year; and <br /> WHEREAS, the 2013 Relay for Life of East Boulder County will be held at <br /> Monarch High School on Friday, August 2 through Saturday <br /> morning, August 3, 2013; and <br /> WHEREAS, on July 12th the American Cancer Society will "Paint the Town <br /> Purple" in Louisville by hanging purple ribbons across town in <br /> support of the fight against cancer. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Bob Muckle, Mayor of the City of <br /> Louisville, do hereby proclaim July 12, 2013 as RELAY FOR LIFE DAY in <br /> Louisville and encourage residents to Paint the Town Purple in support of the <br /> Relay for Life of East Boulder County. <br /> DATED this 2nd day of July, 2013. <br /> Robert P.
