City Council <br /> Study Session Summary <br /> September 10,2013 <br /> Page 3 of 3 <br /> Update/Discussion — NAMS Study Update <br /> Chris Quinn, Planning Project Manager for RTD reviewed a Power Point <br /> presentation on the Northwest Area Mobility Study (NAMS)which encompasses <br /> the US36 Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project and the Northwest Rail line from <br /> Denver to Longmont. <br /> The Key Tasks for the study are: <br /> • Determine remaining BRT funding priorities for US36 <br /> • Evaluate feasibility and cost of construction the Northwest Rail in <br /> segments <br /> • Evaluate potential for extending North Metro Line to Longmont <br /> • Evaluate potential mobility improvements in the area such as BRT on <br /> Diagonal and US287 <br /> • For 1-25 Downtown Express HOV lanes, analyze potential alternatives to <br /> facilitate reverse commute between downtown Denver and US36 <br /> RTD Director Chuck Sisk discussed the main tasks of the NAMS study and <br /> discussed the timeline for completion.
